Landed in Fairbanks - don't know why they built an airport in such a beautiful camping spot!
Drew met us and we went to the University of Alaska Fairbanks museum. Do you have one of those friends who, even if you haven't seen each other in years, you pick up the conversation like it was yesterday? Please get yourself a friend like this❤️. And did I mention they have a pet peacock?

Finally saw my bear! He was a pretty small (maybe a yearling?) cinnamon colored black bear. Just caught a glimpse of him from the train to Spencer Glacier as he ran into the woods. Not my pic, but this is what he looked like- he ran into the woods too quickly to get a photo☹️. It is breathtaking here. Lots of fishing boats out of Whittier. I loved this old building. If I had to pick a place to haunt someday, this would be it. Bench made with railroad pieces. The glacier was spectacular! I will let the pictures tell the tale. We even took a bite of glacier ice. Took a riverboat trip on the Chena river. We saw Susan Butcher's kennels. She won the Iditarod 4 of 5 races! She was the first woman to win. Puppies are puppies, even if they win races!
